Scarecrow Batman Costume
.
The Scarecrow wears his mask to avoid being poisoned by the variety of toxins that cause his victims to hallucinate and have phobias. The effects of the hallucinogen enhance the fear for all who see him. Based on Kung Fu, The Scarecrow uses a style called “violent dancing” of physical combat, even though his physical size is less than intimidating.
The Scarecrow is also known as Dr. Jonathan Crane, who is a former psychiatrist and professor of psychology. Being an expert in fear, he falls into crime after losing his job by being fired because he has strange behavior and appearance. He takes on the personality of The Scarecrow and uses it to threaten his victims into doing his bidding.
Batman and Robin defeat The Scarecrow and send him to Gotham State Penitentiary, where he eventually escapes. He has been a staple Batman villain and a member of Batman’s rogues gallery since 1967.
